NASH
RESEARCH STUDY

Non-Alcoholic SteatoHepatitis (NASH) is a severe form of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

The symptoms of NASH are often silent or non-specific to NASH making it difficult to diagnose until the liver is damaged beyond repair. People with diabetes, obesity, high cholesterol, insulin resistance, and/or high blood pressure are more likely to have NASH. NASH is different than other fatty liver diseases that are caused by alcohol abuse or medication side effects.

There are no approved medications to treat NASH, but East Coast Institute for Research in Jacksonville is enrolling participants in a clinical trial for a potential medication that could one day become a treatment.

People with the common risk factors for NASH are invited to see if they have NASH and qualify to participate.

We Are Looking for Participants Who:

  • Are between the ages of 18 and 75
  • Have some of the risk factors that could lead to NASH who, then, as part of the study can receive a definitive diagnosis

Participants May Receive:

  • Study-related medical care at no cost
  • Investigational medication from a local physician at no cost
  • Potential reimbursement for time and travel
