ANTIHISTAMINES DON’T WORK FOR EVERYONE

About Hives

Hives (also known as urticaria) are red, itchy welts that result from a skin reaction. The welts vary in size and appear and fade repeatedly as the reaction runs its course. Some people develop recurring, itchy hives without an apparent allergic trigger, which can be equally frustrating and uncomfortable.

While antihistamines (such a Zyrtec, Allegra, Claritin and Benedryl) are commonly relied upon to manage the symptoms of hives, not everyone responds to them.

Our Study

Miami Derm and Laser is is seeking adults who experience hives that are not effectively treated by antihistames to evaluate an investigational medication for it.

Qualification Criteria

Male and female adult subjects age 18 or over
Hives diagnosis of 6 months or greater from time of enrollment
Hives inadequately controlled by antihistamines
Presence of hives within three months of enrollment

Participants May Receive:

Study-related medical care at no cost
Compensation for time and travel
