Within the past 8 days, have you been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19?
Help us find a way to prevent COVID-19.
The STORM CHASER Study will research a combination of two investigational monoclonal antibodies, developed by AstraZeneca, for the prevention of COVID-19. The study is looking at how well the investigational antibodies work and how safe they are in the prevention of COVID-19, following exposure to a confirmed infected person.
Participants in the STORM CHASER Study may receive no-cost study-related medication and tests. Volunteers may receive the investigational monoclonal antibodies. People from diverse racial and ethnic groups are needed to find a way to prevent COVID-19.
Research has shown that certain diseases and medications may impact people differently based on their age, gender, and genetic background, including race and ethnicity. For example, COVID-19 has disproportionally impacted both older people and minority populations.
Therefore, clinical research studies often require large and diverse numbers of volunteers to participate in a single study. Sometimes thousands of volunteers are needed to obtain reliable information. This helps to ensure that study medications, vaccines, and antibodies are generally safe and work for many different people, especially those most impacted by the disease or illness. This is why we need people from different races and ethnicities to join the STORM CHASER Study.
