Eczema — also known as atopic dermatitis — is a condition that makes the skin red and itchy. There is no cure for eczema, but researchers are focused more than ever on trying to find ways to treat it.
Austin Institute for Clinical Research needs adult and child volunteers 12 years old and older in the Austin area who have had mild to moderate eczema for at least 6 months to evaluate a potential ointment treatment.
You or your child may qualify if eczema affects at least 2% of your or your child’s body. To estimate how much of you or your child’s body has eczema, 1% of the body is approximately the size of your or your child’s hand, excluding the thumb. So, if you think there are 2 or more “hand prints’ of eczema, you or your child may qualify.
