KELOID SCAR
RESEARCH STUDY

Clinical Research Study Evaluating a Potential Treatment That May Reduce Scar Formation and Keloid Recurrence Following Surgical Removal of Keloid.

When skin is injured, fibrous tissue called scar tissue forms over the wound to repair and protect the injury. In some cases, extra scar tissue grows, forming smooth, hard growths called keloids. Keloids can be much larger than the original wound. They’re most commonly found on the chest, shoulders, earlobes, and cheeks. However, keloids can affect any part of the body. Although keloids aren’t harmful to your health, you might not like the way they look.

California Dermatology needs volunteers in the Encinitas area who have a keloid scar to evaluate a potential treatment.

You May Qualify if You:

  • Are aged 18-60
  • Have had one keloid scar for at least a year on your trunk or arms
  • Are willing to undergo surgical removal of keloid

Participants Receive:

  • Study-related medical care at no cost
  • Study-related treatment at no cost
  • Compensation for time and travel may be provided

Complete the form today to get in touch with California Dermatology.
