Do you think you may have Covid-19? Consider taking part in the EMPATHY Study.
Researchers all over the world are working overtime to try to find effective COVID-19 treatments, including here in West Palm Beach. If you think you might have COVID-19 and two or more of the following symptoms started in the last 7 days, you may qualify for the EMPATHY study:
- Feeling hot or feverish
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Low energy or tiredness
- Headache
- Shortness of breath
If you are interested in taking part you will be first tested for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. Other tests will also be done by the study doctor or staff to check if the study is right for you.
If you take part, you will be in the EMPATHY Study for about 3 months and visit the study center 8 times. You will be assigned by chance to receive either the research medication or placebo as a single intravenous infusion (a drip in the vein). Placebo looks like the research medication but contains no active ingredients.
